K Club [Short Film]

During the 2024-2025 school year, we introduced a project at the Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club (K Club for short), an after-school program for kids grades 3-8. I had an old camcorder – the kind where the screen flips out to the side. I told the kids each week, one kid will get the camera and they can film whatever they want – the classroom, other kids, or nothing at all. But it’s theirs for the day. And at the end of the year, we’d put it all together.
